About Us

Pictured Rocks is tucked away in a hilltop clearing on 74 acres, adjacent to Camp Courageous and surrounded by Pictured Rocks State Park where the scenic Maquoketa River winds though the limestone bluffs and timber. Summer campers experience God throughout the entire day's programs: including specific Bible study, morning watch, and evening chapel time around the campfire in one of our five unique outdoor chapels. Programs vary by age but include a variety of activities from Frisbee golf to archery, mountain boarding to rock climbing, nature hikes to canoeing, outdoor sports to indoor swimming and much, much more. Campers and retreat guests sleep in our air-conditioned cabins/lodges or in tents/Yurts located at our two outpost sites. They eat homemade meals prepared in our large dining hall or meals prepared and cooked themselves over an open fire. The day comes to a close around an evening campfire where they enjoy singing and snacks.

Our facilities are available for retreats in all seasons of the year and we welcome church groups, school groups, scouting groups and family groups. Our goal is to help and support you in accomplishing your ministry goals!

Our facilities have been used for family reunions, day groups (meetings/trainings/winter sledding outings), youth retreats, Women's groups, crafting groups, confirmation retreats, Sunday School retreats, Men's retreats, Pastoral retreats, school and Scouting groups.

We at Pictured Rocks look forward to partnering with your group soon!
