Welcome to the Pictured Rocks website; please consider responding to our camp myth below and checking out our new updated pictures! Speaking of new, did you notice our new logo? What do you think? More importantly let me share with you the story behind the new camp logo.
It began with copyright rules and well,
we were in the wrong and needed to change so we did. See, our new
logo is based on a new outdoor chapel called “Windy Point.” It
was created at camp by volunteers from the Springville UMC and it is
located off the Wesley Trail, behind Oakwood Cabin, about 50 yards
down the trail on the point. There was an old Oak tree with its top
(more like main trunk) snapped out by a storm with debris everywhere.
Much like how many of us are when we come to camp for a retreat;
tired, broken and battered down by the storms of the world. But this
group of volunteers, excited about the ministry opportunity to serve
changed that broken down tree and transformed it to a beautiful place
for ministry. A place to rest, reflect and refuel while clearly
recognizing how the storms of the world may seem to destroy yet
reminding us that God can overcome all challenges/storm damage, into
a blessing for His glory.
In the years to come, until the next time it is decided the next logo is needed, it is our hope that people will not only associate this logo with Pictured Rocks Camp but that it uplifts them. It is our prayer, that this logo will remind you that no matter how beaten down you may seem, when we turn to God for help, everything is possible!
Let Pictured Rocks help support your ministry goals and experience God firsthand!
